Rita Moreno (b. December 11, 1931) is a Puerto Rico-born American actor, dancer, and singer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Somewhere

When her time on set was done

Back in 1961,

Ms. Moreno, though unequaled,

Didn’t know that she’d be sequelled.

I doubt that it was a priori

When remaking West Side Story,

To find an actor who had been there,

Create a role and get her in there;

But here she is six decades hence

Working in the present tense.

Soaking up the added glory 

Of a second West Side Story!
