He’s in the Country Music Hall of Fame,

For country music’s where he made his name,

But since his death, when anybody thinks

Of Jimmy Dean, they think of sausage links.

Fame is Relative

The Ballad of Baby Doe is Moore's most famous opera and one of the few American operas to be in the standard repertory. Especially famous are the title heroine's five arias. - Wikipedia

As American operas go,

Baby Doe is a popular show,

But unless you’re a buff

It’s not famous enough

To have tunes that you’re likely to know.
