Unsuk Chin (b. 14 July 1961) is a South Korean composer, now based in Germany.
Strategy
The etudes for piano by Unsuk Chin
Are not what you’d take for a casual spin;
Like Ligeti’s etudes, to which they’re akin,
The pianist’s approach is to bear it and grin,
Say prayers to the God of Original Sin,
And hope for the best, before digging in.
