Hermann von Reichenau (18 July 1013 – 24 September 1054) was an 11th-century Benedictine monk and scholar. He composed works on history, music theory, mathematics, astronomy, and wrote many hymns.

He was famous enough that he appears to have been credited with compositions by later writers; among the works traditionally attributed to him are the Salve Regina, Veni Sancte Spiritus, and Alma Redemptoris Mater. – adapted form Wikipedia

And wasn’t too shabby.

It was par for the course,
That Hermann von Reichenau
Was hailed as the source.
Though a good Benedictine
Won’t steal from his Brothers,
How nice to get credit
For writings of others!
