Respighi's a potent temptation

For a classical radio station;

They’ve found there's a niche

For such borderline kitsch,

And they keep him in frequent rotation.

Respighi, whose shrewd orchestration

Was a marvel of echt evocation,

Wrote pieces in which

Every flourish and pitch

Evokes the Italian vacation.
