Santana Clause

Santana himself was seeing that the group's direction was alienating many fans. Although the albums and performances were given good reviews by critics in jazz and jazz fusion circles, sales had plummeted. – adapted from Wikipedia

The fans were confused by his fusion,

With its blending of style and allusion;

He’d throw this and that it in,

From rock, jazz, and Latin,

In eclectic displays of inclusion.

Sorry Simon

He has one or two pleasant songs to his credit.  – http://www.hoasm.org

Simon Ives is one who belongs

Among the undistinguished throngs

Of writers of some “pleasant songs.”

You say he’s damned with praise so faint?

I’ll make a note of this complaint,

But won’t pretend that’s what he ain’t.
