Olivier Messiaen (10 December 1908 – 27 April 1992) was an organist and one of the greatest French composers of the 20th century.
Learning Curve
When an organist starts to explore
At the start of a Messiaen score,
She’ll acknowledge that that’s
Got more sharps and more flats
Than she’s ever encountered before!
But continuing on with the chore,
She will finally open the door
To the hedonist joys
Of the mystical noise
Which encompasses Messiaen’s core.

Theodor Kirchner (10 December 1823 – 18 September 1903) was a German composer and pianist.
Exes
Clara Schumann was very fond of him, though she wrote that 'in his character there is no stability', and it appears they had a discreet affair in the early 1860s. - Wikipedia
Following the earliest evidence of his gifts, according to Clara Schumann and and Johannes Brahms, even his closest friends expected him to break through to the larger forms of the sonata, symphony, opera and oratorio. – Klaus Wolters, translated by J. S. Rushworth
Theodor Kirchner, ne’er-do-well,
Fell to Clara Schumann’s spell.
Clara Schumann in her turn
Liked the man, but in a stern
Assessment of his oeuvre said,
“You’re not the man to share my bed.”
Regrettably, that’s how she felt,
For, having in her marriage dealt
With compositions rather finer,
She couldn’t cope with works so minor.
