Hoyt Curtin (9 September 1922 – 3 December 2000) was an American composer and music producer, a  primary musical director for the Hanna-Barbera animation studio.

He was the composer of many of the Hanna-Barbera cartoons' popular theme songs, including The Flintstones, Top Cat, The Jetsons, Jonny Quest, Josie and the Pussycats, The Smurfs, and The New Scooby-Doo Movies.  – WIkipedia

You may not know him, but I’m certain

You know the music of Hoyt Curtin

Whose raffish musical creation 

Defined the sound of animation,

In fact, his music shaped an era

Dvořák in America

Dvořák decided to spend the summer of 1893 in Spillville, along with all his family. While there he composed the String Quartet in F (the "American"). – adapted from Wikipedia

A chapter in a his bio, a

  Chapter often cited,

Records his trip to Iowa,

  Where he was once invited.

The Czechs who lived in Spillville then

  Were gratified to get

A special tribute from his pen,

  “The American Quartet.”

Waldo de los Rios made his hits,

   By giving classic themes a pop facade.

It gave the highbrow music fans the fits, —

   In any case it certainly was odd.

Crowds will dance to “Ode to Joy” with drum tracks,

   But that’s no token that you’ve made improvements,

Stepping on a LEGO or some thumb tacks

   Will also cause enthusiastic movements.

Isabella Leonarda, who was Ursuline,

  Resided in a convent all her days.

Which meant she had a place to hold rehearsal in,

  With a minimum of hassles and delays.

Rehearsing the motets that she had written,

   She found it was a perk that can’t be priced

To have a spacious choir loft to sit it

   While singing with her fellow brides of Christ.
