October 15 - Bernhard Crusell; Gordon Young (The Musical Birthday Series)

Bernhard Crusell (15 October 1775 – 28 July 1838) was an outstanding clarinetist and composer.  He was born in Finland, but spent most of his life in Sweden.

Gordon Young (15 October 1919 – 2 October 1998) was an organist and composer of music for the parish church choir and organist.

Youngsters

On Saturday when organists are queasy,

And lack of preparation has them nervous,

Gordon Young provides them something easy,

That they can safely sight-read at the service.
