Sheku Kanneh-Mason (b. 4 April 1999) is a British cellist and one of the most important classical musicians of his generation.
Sheku, Rattle and Roll
If publicists had sought to hasten
The nascent career of Kanneh-Mason,
I doubt they could have made it faster
For the teen-aged cello master.
He has conquered all the prizes
That the music world devises
For musicians in their teens,
With the dividends that means.
He must have shelves on which he hordes
His honours, tributes, and awards.
And his career is now so hot, he
Plays a 1610 Amati.
Today, wherever life may take you,
Have a Happy Birthday, Sheku!
