Herbert von Karajan (5 April 1908 – 16 July 1989) was an Austrian conductor.
Past is Past?
Having escaped from political odium
After unfortunate choices he’d made,
Herbert von Karajan stood on the podium,
Waved his baton and the orchestra played.
When scanning his past (he was getting more prominent)
Was there a fear of potential exposure,
A scene from his life like a sudden subdominant
Leading his career to its cadence and closure?
