Otis Redding (9 September 1941 – 10 December 1967) was an influential American soul and R&B singer and songwriter. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Last Things

Shortly before his death in a plane crash, Redding wrote and recorded his iconic “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay”. The song became the first posthumous number-one record on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts. -- adapted from Wikipedia

You never know where life is heading -

Take the case of Otis Redding, —

When writing in a gentle way

About the dock on Frisco Bay,

He had no way to know that it

Would prove to be his final hit,

That it would be, when it was done,

Both posthumous and number one.
