Defeated

A critic’s demeanor was soured

As he read through the lyrics of Coward –

He couldn’t find one

That was faultily done,

No matter how closely he scoured.

François-Adrien Boieldieu (16 December 1775 – 8 October 1834) was a French composer, best known for his operas.  [The verse below was previously published mistakenly on a different date.]

That he chose this most elegant stance,

For he was, we surmise,

Very proud of his thighs,

And had quite the best calves in all France.
