Lou Harrison (14 May 1917 – 2 February 2003) was an American composer who was interested in non-standard tuning systems, and non-Western music.

Lou Harrison knitted and purled
With the musical sounds of the world.
His pieces abound
With the sounds that he found,
Which are tooted, and hammered, and skirled.
