Alexander Scriabin (6 January 1872 [O.S. 25 December 1871] – 27 April [O.S. 14 April] 1915) was a Russian pianist and composer.

A pianist takes a risky job in
Memorizing late Scriabin
Where accidental in a jumble
Cause the bravest souls to stumble.
Add to this the cryptic prism
Of his cosmic mysticism,
And you get the strange result
When music meets arcane occult.
There really is a lot of gush in
Music by this moody Russian.
