Marian McPartland (20 March 1918 – 20 August 2013), was an English-American jazz pianist, composer and writer. She was the host of Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz on National Public Radio from 1978 to 2011.

The pleasant host of “Piano Jazz,”
Which made her something of a star,
With listeners of NPR.
She’d chat a bit, then play renditions
With other well-known jazz musicians.
And if she never hit it big,
At least she had a steady gig.
